Ever notice how expensive it can be to give out business cards without any business results from them? After a while you wonder why you are coached to have business cards at all.

Use your business cards powerfully and make use of the cards you receive from other business peers.

7 Business Card Strategies

1. Leave your card blank on the back. When you have helpful information for someone, write it on the back of your card and give it to them. This will prevent them from throwing your card away. You have added value to the card.

2. Make your card canary yellow. Studies show that black text on yellow is magnetic in sales. It will also stand out among the more conservative cards.

3. Make a card that folds so you can put some of your hottest brochure points inside the card. Be sure to use powerful headlines for each benefit.

4. Put you card in the envelope when you mail your bills in. You never know when the person opening the envelope might be looking for your exact service or product.

5. When you have an upcoming event, make a specific card for that event. Then, at networking events, share about the event and give the card. In this case, put the key benefits on the back.

6. When you eat at a restaurant, leave your card with the tip. Your server may be looking for your service or product or may not have been aware of such a service or product. Educate with your business card.

7. Finally, never, ever leave home without your business cards. You cannot predict when a conversation will lead to an opportunity. This can happen especially when you are not selling, but are listening to people share.

Business cards are an excellent marketing tool. Make yours captivating and powerful with the use of well-written headlines. Use your card to draw people to you like a magnet. Remember that studies show that red is a buying color for women, blue for men and purple for both. Consider your target audience before completing your card design.

Is your target audience more affluent or less? Your card should reflect the image of affluence or not based on your target audience and the fees you expect. If they imagine they can’t afford your services, they will not even want to take your card. They will imagine it to be a waste of time.
